The Chiropractic Association of Ireland had our annual conference on 27th and 28th June. It was an incredibly informative and inspiring conference.  We welcomed Dr. Brad Glowaki, Dr. Patrick Gentempo and Dr. Heidi Haavik to present for Chiropractors and staff.  One of our attendants, a chiropractic assistant new to the profession, shares what she learnt from the weekend.

"While I had already read Dr. Haavik’s book, it was a whole different experience getting to hear her talk and see the passion behind all of her research. I had no idea a simple adjustment had that kind of impact on your brain. And it’s crazy to think that a lot of people still don’t know. One of the biggest things I learnt was the science behind it all. Knowing what little I did about chiropractic care getting to understand and see the actual brain scans during Dr. Haaviks presentation was just the evidence I needed to understand just how much a chiropractic adjustment can help.  If everyone knew this information, everyone would be running to a chiropractors office. I think the biggest problem is how little the public actually knows. For most people the only thing that comes to mind when thinking about going to a chiropractor is getting their back pain sorted, and while that is sometimes what is needed that is by no means where the chiropractic care stops. I think even if people knew it has more to do with the nervous system and less to do with cracking and popping joints even that little bit of information would be beneficial".
