Can Chiropractic affect how our brains work, or our ability to deal with stress? More and more research is now showing that it can.

One New Zealand study showed that Chiropractic adjustments change how the nerves and brain function. Its called ‘plasticity’ and it means that our nerve system can change in response to the stimulation we put in.

What does that mean for us in our daily lives? Well, put simply, it means how you are now is not how you have to be forever! How your body is currently functioning and your current state of health is the result of the stimulus you have been exposed to up to this point. Change the stimulus, change your health and function! Chiropractors are uniquely trained to identify areas of nerve system interference in the body, and to use the right ‘input’ (the Chiropractic adjustment) to correct this interference, which then allows your body to start working differently.

Because we experience life and respond to our environment through our nerve system, making sure that there is no interference in that system is vital to living a healthy life. Our ability to cope with the day-to-day stressors of life is also affected by how well our nerve system is functioning. Whether it is a stressful day at work, or all the children talking to you at once, or recovering from an injury or illness, we deal with it all through the nerve system.
