Irish Warriors Undefeated in the Aussie Rules International Cup
The Irish Warriors and myself arrived in Sydney on Monday 8th August, ready to prepare for their first games on Saturday 13th August. The players have brought an extremely professional attitude and one hundred percent committment to playing their best and doing Ireland proud. The players availed of open Chiropractic sessions during the week to get them in peak condition for their games. On Saturday 13th August, Ireland played a seeding round and won both their games, beating East Timor and Great Britain. This saw Ireland seeded first and secured them a spot in Division 1.
On Wednesday, 17th August, Ireland played Sweden and stormed away to an extremely convincing win of 104 to 6 points. Tomorrow, Ireland will face Denmark for their second game of Division 1. Then it is off to Melbourne on Monday. Hopefully Ireland will be playing in the Division 1 semi-final on Wednesday and it would be very exciting to see them in the Grand Final next Saturday. I have been working with the team between games, and before, during and after games, ensuring that the players are performing at their best,
Aside from the games, we aso enjoyed attending the Opening Ceremony and a welcome from the Irish consulate in Sydney. The local media has been very interested in the Irish team, recognising them as one of the favourites and featuring them live on the Channel 10 weather report and they have also been featured in the major newspapers.
I'm off to get an early night. It will be a very busy day tomorrow as Ireland face Denmark.
