About the CAI
CAI The Chiropractic Association of Ireland (CAI) was founded in 1983. It is a voluntary self-regulating supervisory body serving the chiropractic profession and the people of Ireland.

Postal address and administration office:
Penrose Wharf, Penrose Quay, Cork, Ireland

Tel: 021 4857775 Fax: Email: admin@chiropractic.ie

The purpose of the CAI is to maintain professional standards, liaise with various government and health bodies, and to be a professional voice for chiropractic.

Currently there is no legal registration of chiropractic in Ireland. This means regardless of proper qualifications or ethical standards anyone may call themselves a chiropractor in Ireland.

Only internationally accredited and appropriately qualified chiropractors may join the CAI and use the letters MCAI following their names. In the absence of legal recognition, a CAI chiropractor is the safe and trusted choice for those seeking professional chiropractic services.

The Chiropractic Association of Ireland is actively lobbying the government to include chiropractic under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005.

Members of the CAI are required to participate in a continuing professional development programme by completing a minimum number of post graduate education hours each year.

For quality and safety only a member of the CAI should be consulted for chiropractic care.
